Vipassana is an ancient Indian meditation technique which was rediscovered by the Buddha. Over the time, this technique got lost. However, the pure, original technique resurfaced in recent times due to the efforts of Shri S N Goenka from Indo-Burma. You need to complete a 10 day residential course to learn this technique. For the entire 10 days, one has to follow complete silence. Simple vegetarian food is served during the course. You will receive the technique of Vipassana and you have to practice it under your appointed teacher. After 10 days course, you are free to mingle with the world and get back to your daily life routine. However, you must continue practicing Vipassana everyday regularly to reap its benefits. I personally recommend Vipassana strongly as I practice it myself and found it the best way to alleviate stress.
